Dr. Rakesh Pandey and his research team is intrested in exploring the role of certain emotion related contructs and emotional deficits in explaining the health status of an individual. Dr. Pandey started his research career as a Ph.D. Student at the Department of Psychology, Banaras Hindu University and examined the nature of emotional deficits in and personality correlates of alexithymia. He has also persued research on exmining the hemispheric asymmetry in processing of facial expression of emotions in various psychopathological conditions and among brain damaged patients.
